Coping with cancer and elderly parents

Thanks for taking the time to read this. My parents are getting old, heck, they are old!! My mom is in her 80's and my dad in his 70's. My dad just recently had surgery to remove a kidney and cancer tumor. My mom cant think of being with out my dad and I personally cant think of being with out either of them. Any suggestions on how to cope and deal with inevitable would be so much appreciated.
